EVACUEE CAMPS TO BE MAINTAINED IN BRITAIN. —The camp for Liverpool evacuees, established during the war at Colomendy 3 North Wales, has been so successful in its work with the neglected children of the city’s slums that a movement is under way to keep it, and others, as a permanent organisation, Now that governmental war subsidies have been withdrawn, Liverpool wants to revert the centre to a civic holiday camp. But the teachers and social workers, who have seen what splendid work has been done ‘‘here, want it to continue as a “ Citizens’ Training Centre,” where six-months courses in social education win fit adolescent boys and girls for a full life in the community, and break them of anti-social slum habits, hoik dancing is one of the subjects taught to the girls.
