The appointment is subject to 6 months’ probation in the Department, on satisfactory completion of which the appointment will be confirmed. Junior Inspectors are required to servo a period of liireo years, on the satisfactory completion of which transfer to the Senior Inspectors would be made with the corresponding increase in salary. Applicants must have one of tho following qualifications:— (a) Be a Registered Electrical Engineer, (b) Hold an Electrical Wireman’s License.(c) Be a Fully-qualified Electrical Fitter, (d) Have had at least 4 years’ Operating Experience in a Power Station. (e) Have such Electrical or Mechanical Qualifications which would render him suitable for the position. Conditions of employment and scale of pay will be in accordance with those laid down in the Northern Industrial- District Switchboard Operators’ Award. The present appoximate average rate of pay, based on Ibis Award, is, after nine months’ service, £7 14s per 40-liouv week.
