Wimble (for Auckland). - \ The sitting of No. 4 Transport Licensing Authority was adjourned for a brief period this morning as a marik of respect to the late Mr H. Crpighton, for several years secretary of the Carriers’ Association. ' The Rev. P. F. Lanyon, of Wellington, has been reappointed secretary and treasurer of the Baptist Union and the Baptist Missionary Society of New Zealand. Mr Lanyon came from Australia to take up these duties three years ago, and his reappointment yesterday for a further term of three years was warmly applauded at the annual assembly of the union and society. Latest registrations at the Excelsior Hotel include Mr and Mrs V. Adams, Mr and Mrs J. Thomas, Mr T. D. Barker. Mr A. McTavish. (Christchurch). Mr R. Carr (Patearoa), Mr* D.
