SOCIAL EVENING

The combined Mornington and Montecillo branches of the Dunedin Central Electorate .of the National .Party held a successful social evening in the Women’s Pioneer Club rooms on Tuesday evening, Mr L. J. T. Ireland presiding. Mr Edmund J. Smith, the divisional chairman, was also present. and briefly addressed the gathering. The feature of the evening was an interesting address by Captain J. L. Mclndoe, who related his experiences overseas before, his capture in Crete .and subsequently of life in a prison camp in Germany. s Vocal and instrumental items were of a very high standard, those contributing being Mrs Forman, Mr M. Double, Miss Margaret Pratt, and Mr J. A. Wallace, the accompanist being Mrs J. A. Wallace. Supper brought to -a conclusion a very enjoyable evening.
