SHARES NEWLY LISTED. The shares of two important Auckland companies have now been officially listed by New Zealand Stock Exchanges. They are George Court and Sons Ltd., department store, and Brent's Ltd., a company formed for the promotion of tourist traffic at Eotorua. The combined subscribed capital of the two companies is £166,700. George Court and Sons Ltd. has a subscribed capital of £150,000 in shares of £l. For the company's last financial year ended July 19 net profit was'£2o,3l7, and a dividend of 10 per cent, was paid. The directors are:—Messrs A. J. Court (chairman), T. G. Symonds (managing), J. A. Court,' H. Morpeth, and J. P.ascoe. Dealing in the shares opened at 555. Subscribed capital of Brent's Ltd., is £16,700 in 16,500 shares of £1 each and 2,000 shares of 2s each. Buyers opened at 39s 6d and vainly lifted offers to 42s 6d without securing response from holders. LEAD AND ZINC PROSPECTS. World lead stocks were in comparatively short supply at the end of the war, said, the chairman of Broken Hill South Ltd., Sir Alexander Stewart, at the annual meeting in Melbourne. This necessitated maintenance of some control in the allocation of available tonnage, but the removal of restrictions on free dealings might be expected to follow. The Australian production of silver was still being absorbed locally, Sir Alexander continued. The outlook for zinc was promising, both for the disposal of zinc concentrates and for the price obtainable. Output for the current year would be taken at higher prices than last year. There was a strong demand for zinc metal in liberated Europe, India, and other countries. D.I.C. MEETING. The retiring director, Mr J. H. Meek, was re-elected at the annual meeting of the Drapery and General Importing Company of New Zealand Ltd. yesterday. The turnover increased on the Dunedin Exchange this morning, after almost bare lists- 1 yesterday • and on Monday. Prices were fairly steady, with e good inquiry from buyers. Insurance leaders were all sought by firm buyers, New Zealands being wanted at 95s and South British at 85s 6d, while Nationals closed between 25s 9d-26s 6d. Broken Hill Proprietaries were quoted on an ex-dividend market at 45s 3d-47s 9d, while Reid Rubber rights' had an unanswered purchaser at 8s 3d. Wilsons Cements remained weak between 18s'3d19s. ..
