—Yice-Regal.— Shortly after .. the prorogation of Parliament, their Excellencies the Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall,' and Lady Newall will take up residence in Government House, Auckland. They expect to stay about six weeks or two . months! -When their Excellencies oc-, cupy their official residence in Auckland, again they will be doing so for the first time in more than three years. They arrived in New Zeaand in February, 1941, and took ur> residence in Government House during the same • year." In 1942 they placed their residence at the disposal of the Government for emergency services during the war period, and it .was used as a services' club until April of this year, when it was returned to their Excellencies. —Air Passengers.— Passengers for the south yesterday afternoon were Mrs W. Andrews), who is also President of the South Island Local Bodies' Association, which began its annual conference in. Dunedin to-day, was welcomed to the meeting of the City Council last night. The Mayor (Mr D. C. Cameron) said that the council in_ Dunedin was fully conversant of the civic work that had been achieved by Mr Andrews in his capacity as councillor and mayor during the past five years.
