HIDDEN NAZI CAPITAL

HUGE SUMS " SALTED " AWAY IN SWITZERLAND >

DISCOVERIES CAUSE FIRST-GLASS SENSATION

LONDON, October 22.

The American search for hidden Nasi capital revealed that 214 German firms “salted!” away enormous sums in camouflaged Swiss companies to await the day of their return to Germany, says the ‘ Daily Express ’ Geneva correspondent. In the ease of I.G. Farben alone nearly £30,000,000 has been traced in the branch office and agencies in Switzerland. The discoveries so far constitute only the first list, to which the names of other companies will be added as they are found. Many companies have not appeared on the British and American “ black ” lists. The revelations caused a first-class sensation throughout the country, as the Federal Government has never informed the public of the existence of these Nazi financial hoards. All the firms listed have Swiss names and directors.

Agfa Photo, one part of I.G. Farben, has a large branch at Basle, and another Farben branch with an innocentsounding title and a capital of £50.000 was also found at Basle. A further Farben branch at Zurich, with a Swiss name, has a capital of £10.000.000. Many Swiss firms and banks have been revealed as units of the great German combine.
