MEXICO’S “IRON MAN”

DEATH OF GENERAL GALLES ■HELSINKI, October 20. The death is reported of General Plutarco Elias Calles, aged 68, a former President and “ iron man ”'of Mexico. General Calles was Minister of Agriculture under President Carranza, Minister of War under President Obregon,

a former Minister of Industries and Commerce, and President of Mexico from 1925 to 1929. He was exiled from Mexico in April, 1936.
