CHILDREN’S CLOTHES

. TO THE EDITOK. Sir, —To-day 1 purchased two pairs of slippers. One pair, size 7, for myself, where felt with a padded sole, cushion heel, and leather toe-caps, also silk bound round the instep. They cost 3s 6d. The second pair were size 2 for my year-old son. These were felt with no heel, no padding, and no toe-cap, and also minus the bound edge, yet their price was 3s lid. Surely it is time there was some readjustment in the prices of children’s clothes. 1 quote only one instance, but it is the same with every article of clothing they need. With a. third of the material and workmanship, we are asked to pay almost as much as for the adult garment. —I am etc., October 19. Mother of Sons.
