HOMING PIGEONS

RAGE FROM WELLINGTON The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a race from Wellington on Saturday. Air J. Bock liberated 150 birds from 19 lofts in a southerly wind, and the birds had a difficult flight all the way. The winning bird flew the 400 miles in 13h 41min. The following are the results:—A. Fraser’s Faroe King 1, P. Rule’s Daily Chief 2, M. Anderson’s Native Chief 3, J. Scoullar’s Why Not 4, A. Stone’s Sylvie’s Best 5, A. Morris’s The Joker 6, W. Hargreaves’s Sandy Weston 7. Air A. Fraser wins the nominated yearling prize. The club will fly its yearling Derby race from Parnassus next week.
