NORTH CANTERBURY

SILVER SAL IN BIG RACE (Special). CHRISTCHUROH, October 19. The North Canterbury Racing Club, in association with the Hororata and Amberley Racing Clubs, will hold its annual Labour Day Meeting on Monday. The fields are bigger than in recent years, and one race, the Trial Plate, will have to be run in two divisions. The course is in good order and will benefit from the rain which fell to-day. Palfrey now has 9.5 in the main event and Ration has 8.8 in the Amberley Hack.

The win and pince system will be ■in use, and the following horses are likely to be well supported:— - Highweight Hack Handicap.—Lady Welbeck, Twelve Pointer, Racket.
