The Government has announced more drastic penalties, not only for illegal immigrants entering Palestine, but also for the owners, agents, and commanders of ships landing them. Any ship bringing in illegal immigrants with the captain's knowledge will be forfeited to the Palestine Government. Its commander will be liable to a fine of £I,OOO or eight years' imprisonment, or both. The move is a counter to reports that Zionists are chartering ships in European ports.
