ALL ROADS CLEAR
BLEAK WEATHER PROSPECTS Although not so frequent or heavv, rain squalls this morning and early this afternoon ruled out the possibility of commencing summer sports, and indications generally were that Labour Day week-end conditions would not be conducive to outdoor activities. The south-westerly wind, gustier than the moderate breeze that brought with it wintry weather yesterday, was responsible for the dispersal of snow on the higher levels around Dunedin. All roads in Otago were reported to be clear early this afternoon, but care is required to be exercised on some routes. Minor slips on the Crown Range make driving conditions dangerous, but the route is still passable. The rainfall yesterday measured .19iu, while tho maximum temperature was bnlv SOdeg, the minimum reading being 38deg. Amongst the roster of sporting fixtures for this afternoon was a match between a North-east Valley side and a country eleven, but tho inclement weather necessitated its postponement. Should conditions permit, the visiting team will play a Kaikoraj eleven at Bishopscourt on Monday,
