APPRECIATION EXPRESSED SERVICEMEN WELL TREATED The following letter has been received by the secretary of the Y.M.C.A. from the Otago Patriotic Council in regard to the work done by the association for servicemen during the war., This service, is being continued during the rehabilitation jjeriotn—- " Your letter reporting on the provision made for servicemen at the Y.M C.A.. during the months of July, August, and September was submitted to the meeting of the Patriotic Council on Tuesday Very appreciative reference was made by the chairman to the splendid service rendered by the Y.M.C.A. by way of providing accommodation for servicemen throughout the whole period. of the war. It was very gratifying to the council to feel that the service, with other amenities, was being extended in the interests of servicemen during the rehabilitation- period." The following statistics -of service rendered by the Y.M.C.A. in its building to date will be of interest:—Free Sunday teas, 3,757; free billiards, 6,707 games; free hot showers, 3,284; free luggage cheeks, 27,407; beds supplied, 37,417; meals supplied, 37,597. After a visit to the Y.M.C.A.,.the ladies appointed by the Mayoress's Patriotic Committee to inspect the accommodation conditions expressed their satisfaction with the amenities and accommodation provided for the men.
