MORE COAL

MINEWORKERS ORGANISE CAMPAIGN LONDON, Aug. 30. In response to an appeal by Mr E. Shinwell, the executive of the Na-. tional Union of Mineworkers has decided to organise a campaign beginning on September 13 for increased coal production. The appeal will be made to members by leaflets, meetings, and posters. Production officers are being appointed ,by .each union. . Coal owners announced that they placed themselves at the disposal of the Government in assisting the working out of an organisation for public ownership of the coalmining industry. Meanwhile they are doing their utmost to step up production.
