ARRIVING MONDAY

EARLY MORNING TRAIN FORMER WAR PRISONERS RECEPTION ARRANGEMENTS Otago and Southland members of a draft of former prisoners of wai are expected to arrive in Dunedin by train from the north at 6 o'clock on Monday morning. There are about 55 soldiers for Dunedin and Central Otago in'the draft in addition to 26 naval men. Owing- to the early hour of arrival the system of advising all concerned of the progress of the train by use of radio announcements from station 4YA will not be practicable on this occasion. The train schedule will be broadcast in the usual way on Sunday, the final announcement for the day being made immediately before the closing down of the station at night, A broadcast will also be made at 5.59 a.m. on Monday. The draft of returning men is officially known as Dr. 428, and, as such, it will be described in announcements over the air. In order that those interested may obtain last-minute information, ai--rangements have been made for the office of the railway transport officer to be open from 4 a.m. on the morning of the arrival of the draft, and telephone inquiries may be made to that office (phone 13-001) or to the railway station (11-785). The Mayor (Mr D. C. Cameron) has appealed to all citizens to give returning drafts of men, a hearty welcome.
