French editors struggled heroically to give General Patton his sobriquet, “ Blood and Guts,” when he arrived on Friday to restore the French army flags which were captured by the Germans. One published version was “ Sang et Tripe,” another “ Sang et Boyeaux” (“ Blood and Bowels”).
