(Rec. 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 19. Military observers in express the opinion that the Empire should maintain for some years an Army of about 1,000,000, comprising 250,000. to ensure the carrying out of the peace terms and the administering of enemy countries in Europe, 250,000 for Japan and Japanese-occupied territories, and 500,000 reserves. The British regular Army before the war was about 200,000.
