ORDER OF SERVICE

Eleven bands took; part in the'service, and members of various musical societies led the singing. The service commenced with the singing of ‘ God Defend New Zealand,’ followed by a prayer by the Rev. F. de Lisle and the remarks of the Mayor. Brief addresses were given by Mr H. P. Jefcoate, president of the Dunedin R.S.A., and by Mr Roy Law, representing the Chinese community. Other hymns sung were ‘ O God Our Help ’ and ‘ Eternal Father, Strong To Save,’ and the bands played several selections, the service concluding with the playing of the Chinese National Anthem, ‘ The Starspangled. Banner,’ and ‘ God Save the King,’ a prayer ,and benediction by the ReV. J. Ewen Simpson. . ■
