SURPRISING EVIDENCE FROM SCIENTIFIC TESTS (With acknowledgments to Torridon.) Wool can be stretched to an enormous degree without breaking. A single wool fibre was stretched wet to another 70% of its original length, and returned exactly to its former size. Wool clothes carefully folded recover their shape due to the marvellous?? elasticity of wool. Wool is extremely strong, and tests gave the following figures of tensile strength for metal wires of the same diameter as a wool fibre. Tensile strength per sq. inch WOOL - - 17 tons Gold Wire - - 17 tons Copper Wire - 18 tons Aluminium Wire 12 tons In other words, Wool Clothes wear for years and keep their shape. I 1 MUUCE
