GREAT EXPORT DRIVE PLANNED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright (Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, May 2G. The Rootes group announces that it has taken over two huge "shadow" nero engine factories in tho Coventry area and proposes to spend £3.000.000 on re-equipping the factories for carproduction. Sir William Rootes said: "Our aim is production on such a scale that we will be able to undertake the greatest export drive the British motor .industry has ever launched, while at the same time producing in quantity for the home -market."
