COMMITTEE MEETING The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago A. and P. Society was held on Thursday afternoon and was attended by Messrs J. Young (president), J. Allison, S. P. Cameron, W. S. Thomson, C. M. Bruce, A. H. Templeton, J. F. Aubrey, R. T. Kirk, J. Fox, William Jjee, E. M. North, J. A. Miller, J. R. Fairbairn, A. C. Begg, K. Clark, J. Hellyer, D. Ireland, J. B. Blair, B. S. Irwin, G. T, McCallum, S. Mosley, and R. D. Stewart.

Accounts amounting to £948 1b wer« passed for payment. The bank balance was reported to be in credit at £734 12s Id.

The action of the Grounds and Buildings Committee . in purchasing the Y.M.C.'A. patriotic hut at Tahuna Park for show and accommodation purposes was approved. A letter from the military authorities setting out suggested terms for the reinstatement of Tahuna Park before final vacation was referred ta the Grounds and Buildings Committee, with power to act. A letter from the Automobile Association (Otago) regarding the Tahuna motor. camp was considered, and a committee was appointed to. meet representatives of the Automobile Association immediately after the Winter Show.

The list of judges as revised by th» sub-committee's in charge of each section was approved. Eighteen new members were elected. It was noted that the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Roberts) had agreed officially to open the Winter Show at 2.30 p.m. and Friday, June L. Appreciation was expressed of the Tery fine selection of posters and photographs lent by the Director of Publicity for exhibition at the Show. ' An invitation, was extended, by Mr Lee to members to . attend th« Farmers' Union conference to bear the address by Mr G. A. Holmes. The president, who is retiring at the annual meeting, took the opportunity of thanking members for their loyal support during his term of office, and in reply Mr Cameron sooke of the high esteem in which Mr Young was held and congratulated him on his work as president, whieK position he had filled with credit to the society."
