BRANDENBURG CAPTURED STALIN'S ORDERS OF THE DAY (Rec. 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, May 1. Marshal Stalin, in three orders of the day, to-night announced important successes on three sections of the front. The first order,'addressed to Marshal Rokossovsky. says: "Troops of. the Second White Russian Command captured Stralsund, Gimmen, Demmin, Malshin, Waren, and Wesenberg, all in the direction of Rostock from Stettin." These places are described as important communication centres and strongpoints of the German defence system.

A second order, addressed to Marsha! Zhukov, reports the capture of Brandenburg. 34 miles west and south-west of Berlin.

A third order, to General Yeremcn'ko, announced that the Russians had captured Bohumin, seven miles north-west of Ostrava. *
