BURIED SOMEWHERE
MUSSOLINI'S BATTERED B4JDY POMP AND GUTTER END IN COMMON GRAVE •{Rec. 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, April 30. Mussolini's battered body and that of his mistress, Clara Petacci, were taken to the morgue to-night, says the British United Press's Milan correspondent. Mussolini will be buried in Milan cemetery, " wherever there is a place for him." according to Partisan leaders.
The body lay on a patch of bare earth all last night while Italians milled round, spitting at and kicking it. Finally the crowd tied a wire around the ankles of the bodies and hung them head down from the rafters of a burned-out petrol station.
The Italian Press wastes no sympathy on Mussolini's ignominious end. Count Sforza, writing in ' Giornale di Mattino.' says: " We cannot lose time over such a rascal. He was too much of a traitor and professional liar." The Swiss radio states that Mussolini's wife and two youngest children were arrested at Como.
