TWENTY SHIPS HELD UP
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright (Mac. 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 30. 4t least 20 ships in the port of Sydney are.affected by the'current industrial dispute. The ironworkers' strike, involving about 3,000 men at 23 waterfront shops, has immobilised nine ships. Ten others are affected by the strike, but these in any case would be held in port while other repairs were beingmade. Other ships are idle because of the carpenters' dispute. , Mopes have been expressed that the ironworkers'' strike will end to-mor-row. A meeting of representatives of the 20,000 ironworkers in the Sydney district decided unanimously for ta resumption of work, but their decision lias so far been rejected by the workers originally involved in the dispute.
