The Social Credit Message Demands a National Balance Sheet New Zealand is an organisation that declares a loss each year. This loss i> made good by the shareholders, who are called Taxpayers. No one knows whether this loss is real or fictitious, for no BALANCE SHKK'J is ever issued. The Budget, a statement of anticipated receipts and expendi tures, masquerades in place of a Balance Sheet, and is gravely considered by members of Parliament acting as Directors, but we can only guess at the purpose of this solemn farce. ' From time to time, doubt is cast on the financial stability of New Zealand. Whether these doubts are justified qr notneither the Taxpayers nor the Oovr-r:i ment have any means of knowing.. The"credit worthiness of New Zealand if judged only by the ability of the Taxpayers to make losses good. The liabilities can be estimated with some accuracy, but the value of the assets can only be guessed. IT IS PATENTLY ABSURD TO PASS JUDGISTENT ON THE FINANCIAL STABILITY OF ANY CONCERN IN THE ABSENCE OF A PROPERLYAUDITED BALANCE SHEET. Meetings every Tuesday at 8 p.m. IT'S A LONG, TOUGH JOB Through the calender and round the clock the railways are fighting emergencies that go with the biggest transportation job this country has ever known; they must keep their dates with local requirements and they must be on time with the ships for overseas. Is it any wonder that consignees and consignors of goods are asked to cut down the stand-still time of railway wagons carrying their goods? Delayed wagons hinder transportation and, make the railways' job harder than it need be. Load Quickly, Unload Quickly, Release Quickly
