GOERING ASSASSINATED!; LONDON, April 26.—A German diplomat who arrived fromMuuieh gives this version of Goering's resignation on April 23. Goering sent an urgent message to Hitler urging him to accept the consequences of a lost war and prevent further .shedding of German blood. The same night Hinnnler's own bodyguard arrived at Goering's home and kided Goering, his wife, and five daughters. GASWORKS STRIKERS 'RESUME.

AUCKLAND, April 28.—After being on strike since iioou on Thursday, the retort house workers at Auckland Gasworks resumed at noon to-day. It was expected that a limited supplv would be available for household needs oij, 'Monday, possibly in time for breakfast. A further conference was held this
