P3ST-WAR PLANS COMLPETE
(Rec. 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, April 20. Sir Godfrey luce, Director-General of Man Power at the Ministry of Labour, said to-day : " In the matter of reallocation, resettlement, and reconversions we can claim that our plans are ready. If V-Day comes to-rnorrow we are ready and prepared to meet the strain." Sir Godfrey said that during the next 12 months they were opening training centres to raise a building trade labour force from the present 350,000 to 1,250,000. Men and women would also have to be trained for 40 other industries. One of the first tasks would be to get as many married women as possible back to their homes. They had been the heroines of the war, running their homes and doing a great job of worfe in the factories.
