Hunt, of Wellington, has been appointed a trustee of the Nuffield Trust Board to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Sir James Grose. ■

Mr Baxter O'Neill, secretary, of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming' Association, will arrive from Christc&irch to-morrow to attend the interprovincial swimming contest between Otago and Southland on Saturday. District Governor Harold Thomas, of Auckland, who is the head of Rotary International in New Zealand, is at present in Dunedin in the course of a visitation of all Rotary Clubs in the Dominion. On Tuesday evening he addressed a public, meeting in Mosgiel on one of the four objects of Rotary, international goodwill. While in the south he will visit the Dunedin, Mosgiel, Gore, InvercargiH, and Alexandra Clubs.

A Napier Association message records the death of Mr Leslie Culshaw Rolls, general manager of the wellknown Hawke's Bay firm of Williams, Kettle Ltd., aged 47.- '
