PRINCESS ELIZABETH
COMMISSION IN A.T.S. NO PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT (Rec, 10 a.m.) RUGBY, March 4. Princess Elizabeth is -to join the Auxiliary Territorial Service. It is officially announced . from Buckingham Palace that the King has granted her a commission, with the honorary rank of second-subaltern. The Princess is at present attending a course in driving at a training centre in the south af England. It is understood that she joined the A.T.S. at her own request. She will carry out the ordinary duties of a junior officer at the centre, and, by the King's command, will receive no preferential treatment because of her rank. The Princess will be 19 on April 21. :
