GREECE'S RIGHTS
SETTLEMENT AFTER VICTORY BULGARIA SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY IN FULL LONDON, February 28. The Regent, Archbishop Damaskinos, addressing a huge gathering in Salonika's main square, demanded " a legitimate reward for Greece's contribution to the Allied cause." He urged that Bulgaria should be made to pay in full for unheard of cruelties in Greek territories. " By her contribution to the common Allied struggle," he said, " Greece has acquired undeniable rights in the settlement, of accounts after victory. To-day 1 express the warm thanks of the Greek people to the United Nations, particularly their emissary, Great Britain, for the inestimable, resolute cooperation they accorded Greece during her internal crisis. The Bulgarians attempted systematic " Bulgarisation " of the Greek provinces, seizing churches and private property, taking hostages, and perpetrating every manner of crime. The Allies should be wary olf shameless Bulgarian claims to be considered as fighting collaborators of the United Nations. The hour is approaching when Greece, with her historic rights and in the name of her sacrifices and her terrible misfortunes, will ask her powerful Allied judges for justice." M. Themistocles Tsatsos, Supply Minister in the Papandreou Government, giving evidence at the collaborationist trials- in Athens, said that Greek quislings during the German occupation contributed 8,000,000 gold pounds to the Germans, part of which was user! for organisation of Rommel's Afrika Korps. He added that Germansponsored Greek security battalions were used to attack the national resistance movement and weaken Greek efforts to support the Allies
