Y.W.C.A. SEEKS £2,000
APPEAL BEING PLANNED The launching of a public appeal for £2,000 was decided at a meeting of the Y.W.C.A. Board of Directors last night. Plans for the appeal are well advanced, and ,it is expected that the allocation will be' over-subscribed before closing with a street clay on March 16. * For several weeks a group of women interested in Y.W.C.A. work have been preparing for the opening of the shops, at which a wide selection of articles will be on sale. The work of the association was a " front line " community effort in New Zealand, sa.id Miss Ethel Law. general secretary of the Y.W.C.A.'. who was present at the meeting. It.was very pleasing to know that the business community of Dunedin had faith and confidence in Y.W.C.A. work. That was borne out by the generous wav in which local business houses and business men conbuted to funds each year. The appeal will open on March 14.
