METHODIST CONFERENCE

ADMINISTRATION OF CHOUGH Business dealing principally with the administration of the Methodist Church of New Zealand was discussed, at the annual conference of Dominion dele-o-ates, which was continued! tins morning ill Trinity Church. The president of the conference (Rev. A. H. Scrivin) was chairman, and there .was a full attendance delegates who had been delayed through flood conditions, having arrived. Questions involving church property and fire insurance were considered, and a report on the Methodist ‘ Times’ was adopted, a committee, being set up to investigate the future prospects of tins publication. Conference discussed the membership of the Church, and also the statistician’s report. This afternoon an address was given by the Rev. H. W. Newall, MIA..' 8.D., Dominion secretarv of the National Union of Churches. On Saturday afternoon a garden party was held at the Central Mission’s Health Home, Company Bay, there being a large gathering of visitors and friends. The home was inspected . and refreshments served, the Salvation Army Band providing a musical programme. Appreciation was expressed on behalf of the visitors by the president of the conference. The Itev. L. B. Neale, of the Central Mission, replied. Yesterday visiting ministers conducted services in city and suburban churches, while in the afternoon an ordination service was held in Triuity Church, conducted by the president. The address of ordination was given by the ex-president (the Rev. R. B. Tinsley, of Hastings). The following were ordained ministers in full connection Tho Revs. C. H. Bell, H. K. Brown, 11, A. Dan-ill. G. V. Thomas, and J. H. Woolford. ,The deaconess dedication service was held in Trinity Church in the evening, the preacher being the Rev. A. Blackmore, of Gisborne. Sisters Ruth Hilder, Jean Miller, and Winifred Poole, who have completed their full period of training, were dedicated to' the work of the deaconess order
