ROWING AND SAILING

RAVENSBOURNE REGATTA REVIVED SENIOR FOURS WON BY QUEEN’S DRIVE Revived after a lapse of three years, the Ravensbourne regatta on Saturday afternoon was a complete success. The large attendance of local residents and visitors' witnessed some excellent racing, particularly in the rowing events, which produced a number olf vrey close finishes. The sailing races attracted fairly good fleets, but the light northeast air was barely sufficient for the yachts, which made slow progress round the course. The principal rowing event was wo’n by Queen’s Drive Boating Club, which just beat the Port Chalmers crew on the line after a gruelling race. The presence of the -Dunedin Ladies’ Brass Band added to the enjoyment of the day. Results: —
