STEAM BOILEES. . To obtain complete combustion, Thomsons clean out their combustion chamber weekly. To permit it to fill up for 12 months -until inspection date is reducing the combustion area, consequently resulting in a waste of coal, black smoke from the chimney top, and a tremendous loss of boiler efficiency. Should a boiler be too low down ou top of the furnace, it also diminishes this area. Chimneys should be swept not less than three times a year, so' as to provide any amount of pull, to eliminate all non-com-bustible and spent combustible gases, as •well as their corrosive by-products, from the furnace, etc., as rapidly as possible. .
