AMERICAN TRIBUTES
DOMINIONS' PART IN PACIFIC WAR
IMPRESSED BY FIGHTING QUALITIES
SYDNEY, Nov. 27
The Americans who shared with Australians and New Zealanders. the hard fighting in the South-west Pacific would like to have men of both countries alongside them when they, smash the defence bastions protecting the Japanese mainland. The "Washington correspondents of six famous American news organisations, who are making a three weeks' air tour of the Pacific battle areas, agreed on this in Sydney to-day. There was no question in anyone's mind in Washington about the contributions which both Australia and New Zealand had made to the Pacific war. They said: .

" Returning soldiers,'civilian'officials, and War and Navy Department heads are continually reminding us of the contributions you have made both in materials and .personnel.'' _ ; The other correspondents in the party are: Mr Hamilton Faron (Associated Press), Mr Herbert Andrews (New York Herald-Tribune), Mr. Sidney Shalett (' New York Times '.)',. Mr William Wheatley (' Washington Star'), and Mr Eddie . Jcihhes ('Time' Magazine).
