HARD OF HEARING LEAGUE

The eighth social evening of the Men's Social Club of the Hard of Hearing League was held on Monday evening, and there was a large of members, including one who had returned from the Middle East last week. A concert party, under the.direction of Mr H. H. F. Grant, provided an excellent entertainment, those contributing to the programme being: Vocal solos, Mrs Gamble, Messrs R. Watkius and C Turner; recitations, Miss Sybil Westland; piano and violin solos, Misses Gardiner; quartets (diggers'' quartet), Messrs Ballintine, Coughlan, Grant, and Hughes. Mrs W. Barkman was the accompanist. At the conclusion of the programme the cbaityman (Mr A. J. Simmonds) expressed the thanks of those present. •
