DUNEDIN PHILATELY CLUB
The monthly meeting of the Dunedin Philatelic Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. lecture room on Thursday evening. Mr J. McAra presided. Displays for the evening included, classics of New South Wales and Nova Scotia, shown by Mr ,7. McAra ;• early : stamps of the British Solomons from Mr J. Pemberton's collection; and some recent issues shown by Mr A. C. Lahig. Included in these were some interesting stamps from Italy, issued bv Mussolini after the King of Italy had"left Rome. Of interest was a pair of early Great Britain reprints of the one penny black and twopenny blue shown by Mr A. Eccles. 'Mr J. McKenzie displayed his collection of the Commonwealth of Australia.
The evening was devoted to talks by .members on subjects covering the popu-
larity of our New Zealand health issues, the desirability or otherwise of collectinc; shade and perforation varieties, and reasons for comparative unpopularity of the early " side face " issues of Now Zealand.
