RETIRING PRESIDENT HONOURED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. The retirement of Mr T. Jordan (Masterton) from the office of president of the Municipal Association of New Zealand, which he has held for the past eight years, was recognised by the delegates at the annual conference, which concluded in Wellington to-day. The newly-elected president,. Mr J. W. Andrews (Lower Hutt), in making the presentation of a cheque, paid a tribute to Mr Jordan's grasp of local government affairs and the splendid lead he had given at all conferences. Mr Jordan had undoubtedly been one of the outstanding figures in municipa.l affairs. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr J. W. Andrews; vicepresidents—Messrs J A. C. Alluin (Auckland), W Appleton (Wellington), E. H. Andrews (Christchurch), D. C. Cameron (Dunklin) T L. Secldon (Feilding), and R. Goldstine (One Tree Hill) ; executive—Messrs A K Mansford (Palmerstou North), H A Anderson (Mount Albert), E. R. Neale (Nelson), C. G. Burgess (Sumner). C. T. Smith (Blenheim), P. Thomson (Stratford), V. M. Tracey (Papatoetoe), and >A. A. Liddell (Otautau).
