ARGENTINA'S PROPOSAL
PAN-AMERICAN UNION'S DECISION
NEW YORE, November 2,
The Pan-American Union's governing board voted unanimously to transmit Argentina's request for a conference of American Foreign Ministers to 20 other Governments for study and recommendatiou, says the ' New York Times' Washington correspondent. Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela are reported to favour the idea, but a conference of Foreign Ministers is usually called by unanimous vote, so that no definite indication concerning the prospect of a meeting will be available until all the countries have voted.
The (Buenos Aires correspondent of the ' New York Times ' states that the Pan-American action was received with unconcealed pleasure in official circles, where it is felt that the first hurdle in Argentina's plan has been successfully overcome.
