EAST TAIERI CHURCH
ANNUAL MEETING The interim-moderator, Rev. T. McDonald (Green Island) conducted the business at the annual meeting of tho East Taieri Presbyterian Church. There was a good attendance. Tile reports of the session, the deacons' Court, and other organisations in the work of the congregation wcr oread and adopted. The choir and friends provided some acceptable items during the evening. The treasurer (Mr Morton) expressed gratification that contributions had been exceedingly well ..maintained, and it was pleasing to report a credit balance. Tho Moderator addressed the meeting on the theme of the church's place in the community and its influence. The church was a vitalising force in every community, and its influence was felt throughout the whole district, including those who <lid hot attend its services. It was unanimously decided to send greetings from the congregation to Miss Sutherland and to the Misses McKay, who had recently left the district after a very long life of service to the congregation and to the district; and to Rev. S. C. Head on service overseas. Acknowledgments and thanks from several members on overseas service for parcels forwarded to them bv the. congregation were read by Rev. W. G." Mcintosh. Rev. Mr Mcintosh thanked the members and adherents of the church for their support and help during the year. He was deeply sratnfu! to nil organisations and people who had worked so steadily and well during Hie year for the advancement of the work of the church in the parish.
