MACANDREW BAY ORPHANS' CLUB
There was an excellent attendance of members and friends at the Macandrew Bay Orphans' Club's Anal night of the 1944 season, the occasion being "stewards' night." Following (he loyal toast and opening ode, Chief Steward W. Maule was installed as chairman; for the evening,,. President Bro £. H. Barrett and his executive acting as stewards for, the night. A very onjoyable programme, was provided, the following items being, contributed:—Vocal
solos—Bros. J. G. Thomson, R. H. Ander. son, and J.' P. Vivian; accordion solos, Bro. S. Walters; recitations, Bros. H. B. PaU trick and J. P. Vivian; vocal duet. Bros. Thomson and Anderson, the musical director (Bro. R. J. Nicholson) being the accompanist. At the close of the programme Bro. Maule thanked the stewards for scrvices rendered tc the club during the year. Bro. Barrett reminded members of " ladies* night " and bowling match. The evening was brought to o. ciose with the singing of the closing ode and. the New Zealand National Anthem..
