Australian coal losses this week, totalling more than 40,000 tons, are the heaviest since the August crisis, which necessitated a drastic reduction of supplies to ihe Last week's coal losses were 22,000 tons. The peak loss in recent months was 62,000 tons for the week ended August 18. During the whole of September only 40,000 tons of coal were lost. To-day six New South Wales mines are idle, three as the result of safetv disputes, for the loss of 9,000 tons ofcoal.
