DRASTIC FUEL RESTRICTIONS
GAS ONE DAY A FORTNIGHT (R*c. 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 6. The authorities in Germany announced additional drastic fuel restric-i tions, which differ somewhat according ■to local conditions, says 'The Times '. Stockholm correspondent., Gas, available for one whole day, once a. fortnight, will be turned off in each district on different days. It is stated that present supplies have long not sufficed for ordinary consumption everywhere simultaneously. Private dwellings and offices in Berlin are being forbidden iheating more than four days a week. Berlin is extending an oxen service ihauling loads of beer and other necessities through the ruined asphalt streets. Tramcars in Berlin are also towing trailers to transport postal parcels and other merchandise for official and private establishments.
