THING SCORES AGAIN GUINEAS TO AIR ACE The Duuedin Jockey Club's spring meeting attracted a big crowd to Wingatui to-day. The weather was dull but conditions ■ were otherwise mild and pleasant. The track was in fair order. Swordstick fell at the first fence in the Wakari Hurdles and his rider, L. Burnard, was admitted to hospital with a broken arm. NOVICE HANDICAP, £250. 7f. Swordstick came down at the- first fence, and Astros led Nightcalm _ and Prince Dolomite out of the straight. The order was unchanged round the bacik, but coming into the straight Jack o' Lantern had moved up with Astros and Albino, Nightcalm fading out. Albino ;■ finished strongly to wirl by three lengths from Jack o' Lantern, who was four lengths ahead of Big Joe. Then came Astros and Night Pal. Time, 2.41 2-5. ,

Grand Forest, Chicago, Good Cast, and Lex led out; and Wild Cry moved up into third place after a furlong. At the half mile Benbecula, Dash o' Dublin, and Bowmore were involved in a smash in which all three fell. Grand Forest led into the straight from Wild Cry, Chicago. Girl Friend, and Good Cast. Grand Forest was not troubled to win by three lengths from Wild Cry, with Lex two lengths away third. Then came Good Cast, Crinkle, Chicago, and Dearo. Time, 1.29.

Before the half-mile Doubleack joined the "leaders and led Tring, Kohara, Arctic Dawn, and Kevin. Doubleack and Tring were first into the straight from Arctic Dawn and Kevin.' Tring and Kevin battled up the straight together, and the former won hy a length. Doubleack was two lengths back, a neck ahead of Sal's Pal. Then came Arctic Dawn and Fair Trial. Time. 2.15. Bonny Flight, and Pensacola. and carried on to round off a fine performance, winning by a neck from the fast-finishing Pensacola, who was a length ahead of Bonny Flight. Then came Piccolo, Joygiver.
