Americans launch new attack south-east of Aachen. Germans report thAt British have established a bridgehead across the Lek, 10 miles west of Arnhem. With improved weather Allied air forces out in strength strafing enemy positions and communications. R.A.F. Lancasters in heavy raid on Saarbrucken drop over 300,000 incendiaries. Fifth Army spearhead in Italy now only 14 miles from Bclogna. Reinforcements flown in to Allied forces on Greek mainland. Russians and Yugoslav Partisans united in attack on Belgrade. Japanese in suburbs of treaty port of Foochow.
