Passengers arriving by the southbound air liner yesterday were Mr J. Harroway, Mr W. D. Woodroffe, Mr G. Luke (from Auckland), Mr E. Mirams, Mr A. Hunter, Mr O. Bain, Mr W. A. Ford (from Wellington)," Miss Campbell, Mr F. Buss, Mr W. Stevens <fro.m Auckland). . Passengers north-bound this morning were Mr H. M. Hewson, Mr H. R. Dorreen (for Christchurch), Mr H. Coull, Miss E Maltby, Mrs Sutherland, Mr A. Vance (for Wellington). Sgt. D. F. Creed (for Nelson), Mrs S. W. O'Sullivan, Mies M. Dunlop, Mrs E. C. Forde (for Auckland).
Mr Jame 3 Begg, en route to Wellington, left by the express this morning. Mr W. R. Clarke left this morning for Wellington. * (Mr and Sirs James Brown left for the north this moirning to take up residence in Auckland, and were farewelled on the station platform by a large gathering of friends. Cabled advice has been received by Mrs A. Stewart, of Pukehiki, that her son, Flight-sergeant George Stewart, has received his commission in England. Lieutenant F. A. Sandall, librarian for the Southern Military District of the Army Education Welfare Service, who has been in Dunedin to supervise the packing of books and magazines collected from schools for despatch to ser-vicemen-overseas, left by the express this morning' on his return to' Christchurch. ■ ■'■ ',j '■ Police Inspector E. T. C. Turner, who has been in charge of the Dunedin district for several months since the retirement of Superintendent P. J. O'Hara, is at present on annual leave. Inspector W. E. Packer, of Christchurch, has arrived in Dunedin to relieve Inspector Turner. Mr M. Sullivan has been appointed assistant director _of rehabilitation, announced thfe_ Minister of Rehabilitation, Major Skinner, to-day. Mr Sullivan, who is a qualified accountant, joined the Public Service in 1919, being appointed to. the Public Trust Office, in which he worked at head office and various branches on accounts and, administration. Heiserved in the Middle East with the Fourteeth Light Antiaircraft Regiment for two and a-half years. After returning to New Zealand last year Mr Sullivan "was for a time with the Public Trust Office, being later transferred to the Rehabilitation Department as chief clerk.—Wellington correspondent.
