MANCHESTER UNITY
A feature of the installation of ofhV ners in Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge was the appointment to office of P.G. Bro. Peter Thomson, a member in his ninety-first year, still hale and doing his bit while younger members are serving in, the forces* This constitutes a record unique in Oddfellowship in any part of the world. Installed into office in Loyal Albion are Bros. O. Anderson, It. J. Scrymgeolir, I. G. Woodley, P. R. Penny, and G. W. Thomson, in that order, with Bro. E. J, Coxheacl as I.P.N.G
In Loyal Centenary are: N.G., Bro. J. Hartstonge; V.G., Bro. C. Pope; E.S., Bro. W. Davidson; warden, Bro. E.. Hinbbard; guardian, Bro. J. Farquharson;' and 1.P.N.G.. Bro. J. Peake. The installation ceremony was conducted by Prov. P.G.M. !Bro. J. W. Roberts, and, ■ was well patronised by representatives of sister lodges. The installation of officers at Prince of Wales Lodge, .Port Chalmers, was well attended by members and representatives of Loyal Dunedin, Albion, Caversham, and Princess Mary Lodges. All officers installed were past grands anxious to maintain the prestige of the lodge during the absence of younger members. The sick visitors' reports disclosed that the number of-.members receiving sickness benefits was the largest for many years, some £54- being disbursed during the fortnight.
