MORTAR SHELLS FROM SPAIN
BEING SUPPLIED TO GERMANS FACTORIES WORKING FULL BLAST FOR NAZIS LONDON, July 10. " German troops defending the French Mediterranean coast are being supplied with mortar shells from Spain," says 'Reynolds's News,' which adds that French partisan leaders have revealed that sealed wagons containing mortar shells go direct from Spain to German depots and are guarded and handled .by German soldiers only. Factories working full blast for the Germans include the Hispano-Suiza and Vulea, in Barcelona. Spanish factories are turning out parts for tanfcs, aero.plane engines, U-boats, and Diesel engines. Chilean saltpetre is also reported to be arriving in France from Bilbao and other Spanish ports. At least one shipment of cotton from South America has come in by the same route. 'Reynolds's News' asks: "Will Mr Eden make inquiries? He need not go to Moscow-on this occasion. The French Provisional Government at Algiers can supply him with all the reports it has received from its own trusted resistance leaders." Mr Eden previously stated that he was -satisfied that Russian reports of Spanish help, in the development of flying bombs were without foundation.
