VON PAPEN RETURNS TO TURKEY
LONDON, May 11. The German Ambassador to Turkey, Herr von Paipen, has returned to Istanbul, accompanied by his military, and commercial attaches, after giving a personal report to Hitler on Turkey's stoppage of chrome exports in spite of the fact that Germany had paid for more than has been delivered, says the Istanbul correspondent of the Associated Press. Significance is attached to the fact that von Papen was not accompanied by Dr Claudius, who negotiated the original agreement under which chrome and other commodities were delivered, because the agreement exipires next month.
